Intro to Free Motion Quilting (Sunday)

Sunday 6/28 from 10:00-1:00pm Time to kick your quilting up a notch and learn the basics of Free Motion Quilting! This primer class will cover how you should prep for FMQ, the changes needed to make on your sewing machine (bring yours along or practice on our Baby Lock Jubilants) and you will spend time practicing some of the most widely used and beginner friendly motifs. This is a Beginner Adult Class for ages 16 and assumes you have basic knowledge of the sewing machine. FMQ is unlike any other sewing you’ve done before! Materials to bring with you to class: (all students get 15% off in the Old Spool Shop!) If bringing your own machine, please make sure to bring the foot pedal, power cord and manual. You will also need to purchase a Free Motion/Darning Foot for your machine. If you are using the classroom machines, you do not need to purchase a Free Motion Foot. If you would like to bring additional 12”x12” quilt sandwiches (cotton/batting/cotton) you are welcome to! Materials Included with registration: Each student will be provided with (2) practice quilt sandwiches, Our Baby Lock Jubilant sewing machines as well as all notions and tools needed. No refunds will be given within 72 hours of the start of class unless your spot can be filled from a wait list, otherwise future class credit will be issued. No-Shows without an attempt to contact us prior to the start time of class (email, voicemail etc) will not be refunded, transferred or given credit. No make up classes are available. We will not transfer credit to a future class more than once. In the case of inclement weather a credit towards a future class will be given. The instructor reserves the right to cancel class if there is insufficient enrollment in which case a refund will be offered. Most classes require 3 students to run.
