Marisa will teach you all about the history of cyanotype, a printing process that involves photosensitive ink, then walk you through how to make your own cyanotype printed fabric using fabric, dried botanicals, and the sun! IN week 2, students will use their cyanotype fabric to create a lapped zipper pillowcase and create a pillow form to fluff up their favorite new piece of home decor! Pillow will finish approx. 17″x17″ Please be on time for class with your supplies already purchased and ready to go. Materials to bring with you to class: Remember, all students get 15% off in the Old Spool Shop! Note: The process of cyanotype results in a Prussian Blue color. If you are looking to color match your zipper, we recommend using a royal blue or navy. DIY PIllow Form 1/2 Yard of basic quilting cotton to make pillow insert (will not be seen on the outside) 1 bag of fiber fill stuffing 1/2 yard of continuous zipper tape OR 1 18″ zipper Thread to match your project (cyanotype is blue) Materials Included with registration: prepared Cyanotype mixture, dried botanicals, pre-treated fabric, and use of our Baby Lock Jubilant sewing machines as well as all notions and tools needed.
